OGTC - 7th International Conference on Apparel & Home Textiles in India, September 30- October 1, 2011

The conference theme was “Make Competition Irrelevant”
During the conference several lecturers- all professionals, experts and leaders from the apparel & textiles industry shared their views and experience: Leading India’s Manufacturers and export houses shared their success stories. Among them, Aditya Birla, Allied Export Industries, Instyle Export, Jyoti Apparels, Madura, Neetee Clothing, Orient Craft, and many more. Also interesting discussions about their struggles and challenges where raised. Educational institutes such as Lady Irwin College and NIFT and consultants for the apparel industry participated in the pannels.
Other topics such as solutions for HR- employees trainings and wages, advanced technologies, lean manufacturing practices, business models, marketing principles, enhancing merchandiser skills, sustainability and responsibility of businesses where discussed.
During the first day of the conference, there was a session conducted by Mr. Ashok Logani - MD Instyle Export. In this session- Mr. Yoram Burg, President of Optitex USA talked about 3D Virtual prototyping - advanced technologies’ role in outpacing competition.
On the second day (Oct 1st 2011), in a session conducted by Mr. Animesh Saxena- MD Neetee Clothing - Mr. Yoram Burg gave a presentation about merchandising @ 3D virtual fit and reviewed case studies from the USA and India as well as a case study of a work flow between USA buyers and Indian export houses through 3D, with the Indian Optitex team.
