Laboratorio Textil develops low-cost digitizing solution for South America

Argentinian OptiTex distributor, Laboratorio Textil has developed a low-cost digitizing solution for their austral clientele.

The FOTOTEX system, a simple to use digitizing solution for material, is comprised of a panel/board of ferrous material in which paper patterns are attached with magnets and scanned with software. The board has marks on its perimeter that allow the "FOTOTEX system to measure product scale and perspective. The invention of this user-friendly digitizing solution avoids the common issues found in digitizing systems. Contrast and lighting issues are easily calibrated in the digitizing system and multiple patterns are able to scan simultaneously.

Laboratorio Textil’s digitizing solution was born from the experience of 17 years of experience in the CAD market.  Laboratorio Textil’s provides users with one standard digitizing board and with instructions on how to build customized boards of different sizes. Customers also have the ability to use a very wide range of existing options, ranging from a standard office scanner for applications such as corsetry, up to big surfaces 2m by2m, if necessary. An affordable alternative to other digitizing solutions in the fashion and textile market, the FOTOTEX system is marketed without a camera and tripod, but includes a full slate and a set of additional markup for clients to build a customized table when needed. The retail price in Buenos Aires is 1000 dollars plus tax. 

The National Institute of Industrial Technology of Argentina has chosen Laboratorio Textil’s FOTOTEX digitizing solution to assist in the training and support of emerging textile companies in Argentina to develop their expertise in the textile field.
