How to create new piece by cutting
Open Cutting Example.dsn

1.Click on the Create Internal Parallel Tool
in the Contour Toolbar PDS:Create Parallel Tool.
2.Select the hem of the skirt in the example with the Create Internal Parallel Tool
PDS:Create Parallel Tool.
3.Enter the number of inches up from the hem that you want your new line to be created.
In the example, we use 4 inches.
4.Select the Cut Along Internal Lines Tool
from the Build & Cut Toolbar PDS:Cut Along Internal Tool.
5.Click on the internal line by which you wish to use as a cutting line.
For this tool to work, the line you are selecting must touch an external contour at both ends.
6. Click Yes to align cutting by base size.
7.Click OK to skip past the seam allowance window.
8.Move your piece away from the original to view it.
9.You can also use the Draft tool
to create any shaped internal line clicking once to create a point, and clicking while holding the shift key to create a curve. Right click and select Finish Drafting to complete your line PDS:Draft Tool.
10. Click Yes if you want to set grading by extending draft line.
11.You can also use the Cut tool
from the Modify Toolbar to chop through a piece, creating a line in the same way as the draft tool (as explained in step 9) PDS:Cut Along Internal Tool.
