Preparing To The Lesson

  1. Download the file to your computer(it is a good idea to have a "Models" folder for easy organization).
  2. Open OptiTex PDS 10.
  3. Open the Model Window through Menu >View >3D Windows >Model (7).
  4. Select the Load Model (3D Load Model 1.png)from the 3D Model toolbar.
  5. Use the explorer window to locate the folder where the model is.
  6. The model will now appear in the Model Window.

Morphing

1. Open the Model Properties dialog box by clicking the icon. 3D Model Properties 2.png
2. Once the dialog box is open, spend some time to review all of the ways to morph the model.
3. Open file below with the specific model specs we will be using.


Model Specs


4. Enter the values given by either typing directly or using the slider bar.

Remember that the morphs are not only for direct measurements but also for shape and pose.

5. Once the model has the size and proportion desired it can be saved.

Saving

1. Take time to review the Save Model function before moving on.

2. Click the Save Model icon Save Model

3. The Windows dialog box will pop up, from here you can save the model to your specifications.

4. For this lesson we have been working to create a new fit model. In the box below show how you have 1unchecked the "keep body controls" because she is a standard fit model and don't want to be able to change her regularly. 2Saved the file in the "Models" folder to create a standard place for all their models. 3Named the model with a new and specific name. 4Selected the .mod file type to save the body and not a style.

Saving a Style

When a style has been perfected and is ready to be saved, the same procedure is followed for saving a model.

  • The key difference is the file type, in the case of clothing that is a .CLT file. Use drag down menu to select the correct file type.

Please also note that the CLT is for the specific model it was draped on, in the file name above Karissa was used in the title to remind the user which model was used.
