PDS Basic Course is a mandatory course for all new PDS users, the series of lessons listed bellow includes all the basic functionality of PDS. This course is required before any other PDS course. During the series of lessons in this course trainees will master the working environment and the basic moves in PDS.

Lesson 1 - Intro To Windows And PDS

Windows

1. Mouse buttons, Rightclick - options, Leftclick, Wheel, wheel click
2. Windows Explorer, files and folders, create folder, search file, copy ,move
3. Printing/Plotting

PDS

1. Open file
2. Save file
3. Save as
4. Open backup
5. History
6. Import/Export a standard file (DXF,AAMA,ASTM, plus more)

Lesson 4 - Selection and Piece Layout

1. Pick select tool , using icon/END key, Right click, select tool
2. Snap - hover over element , colored Red
3. Select piece
4. Select element - selection point, internal line, dart , drill hole, circle,text
5. Difference between select piece and select internals/points
6. Select multiple point - using shift not drag (unless advanced user)
7. Select multiple piece - using shift , bound box, piece bar
8. Move piece - with space bar only (no mouse drag)- and icon
9. Move internal - Crtl+space , and icon
