Introduction
This article describes how to configure Timer and Network security plugs, required by OptiTex software, concerning software release 10.
Starting the License Manager process
License Manager is a process, provided with OptiTex 10 Suite, enabling the user to configure his security plug.
- Invoke License Manager
- Install OptiTex 10
- Start License Manager process: 2 possibilities
- Double click on file LicenseManager.exe, located in folder C:\Program Files\OptiTex 10\App
- From Start->Program->OptiTex 10, invoke License Manager entry
- Invoke License Manager
Basic flow to configure Timer or Network plug
- User requests from OptiTex (optionally through his dealer)
- Codes to change the plug version to 10
- Codes for modules to activate
- The customer reveives from OptiTex or from his dealer the required configuration information
- If the plug version is earlier than version 10
- From License Manager: change the plug version (see Change Plug version section)
- Enter codes for module to activate (see 'Activate module' section)
- If the plug version is earlier than version 10
- User requests from OptiTex (optionally through his dealer)
Change Plug version
Customer having a Timer or Network key, configured for release 9 or an earlier version, has to change the plug version to release 10.
Flow
- Start License Manager
- Click button Change Plug Version
- Select the version 10
- Enter the codes permitting to change the plug version
Notes:
- A plug release 9 cannot be used with OptiTex software version 10; user has to upgrade its plug version from 9 to 10, using the “Change Plug version” function and entering the relevant plug codes provided by OptiTex
- A plug release 10 gives access to OptiTex software versions 9 and 10
Module Codes
Activate module
Per module
- Start License Manager
- Per module to be activated
- Select the module entry
- Click 'Module Codes' button or double click with cursor on the selected module entry
- The following window appears
- Enter the relevant Codes and press OK. If the codes were correctly entered, the checkbox corresponding to the processed module is then checked.
Desactivate a module
- Select the module description in the License manager window and click Module Codes or double click the module entry. The following window appears.
- By clicking Yes, the processed module is from now on no more available, the checkbox corresponding to the module is unchecked.
- Pay attention: Once a module is disabled, customer has no way to get back access to the module, but by reentering the module codes.

Network plugs
Modules codes can be updated for network plug on from the server site, from the client sites, updates have no effect.
