PDS:Set Baseline Perpendicular Direction Tool

Use this tool to change the direction of the baseline. Unlike the Set Baseline Direction Tool, the new baseline created is perpendicular to the selected segment. This command is useful if the baseline was not digitized, or if two pieces were joined in a way that results in an oddly shaped piece. This command places the current baseline inside the piece, close to the center.

Operation

1. Invoke the Set Baseline Perpendicular Direction tool.
2. Select two points (existing or even non-existing). The piece's baseline is created perpendicular to these points.

Common Usage Example

1. Original baseline

2. Set the new baseline direction

3. The new baseline is perpendicular to the set direction

In version 11 you can set the baseline for multiple pieces at once.

1. Select the Baseline Perpendicular Tool.
2. Select multiple pieces at one time.
3. Set new direction.
