PDS:Rotate Piece Tool

Use the Rotate Piece command to rotate the entire piece around a pivot point.

Operation

  1. Invoke the 'Rotate Piece Tool', and click on a point or anywhere over the piece or Right double click over a piece or point.
  2. The piece is now controlled by the cursor. Move the cursor to the location where the piece is rotated as desired.
  3. Click the mouse button.
  4. When the 'Angle of Rotation' dialog box displays, click OK to accept the rotation angle, or enter specific angle values for the rotation.
1. Sleeve should be rotated
2. Double right click over the overlapping (sleeve and front) point
3. The rotation preview is highlighted.

Rotating Several Pieces

Rotating according to 2 points

  1. Move piece (spacebar key on piece point) to the first rotation point.
  2. Invoke the 'Rotate Piece Tool', press SHIFT key and click again on 1st rotation point.
  3. Click the point that defines the segment to rotate.
  4. The piece is now controlled by the cursor. Snap to the 2nd point to define the rotation angle for the piece.
  5. When the 'Angle of Rotation' dialog box displays, click OK to accept the rotation angle.

*Tip: The Walk tool can be used to rotate according to a selection of points.
