PDS:Relate Piece To Stripes

Use the Relate Piece to Stripes command to align pieces on the fabric. Remember to create stripe lines using the Grid And Stripes command before attempting to align pieces.

Location

Menu:Piece>Fabric and Stripes> Relate Piece to Stripes.

Operation

1. Define the Grid And Stripes.
2. Invoke the Relate Piece to Stripes command. The Relate Current Piece To Stripes And Bit dialog box is displayed.
3. Enter the By X and By Y values according to the matching.
4. Click OK to fix the match point.

1. The stripes are enabled, but the pieces are 'free' to move

2. Click on the -> button to select the notch with the Stripe Adjust

3. If needed, also enable the By Y – so that the piece is always positioned exactly on the stripes' intersection

4. The match point is fixed according to the X and Y stripes

Dialog Expressions

By X / By Y

Matches the piece according to the X and Y stripes.

These buttons change the match point clockwise or counter-clockwise.
