PDS:Pivot Dart To Point

Use this command to shift a dart from its current position to a different position on the contour. This action does not alter the piece in any other way.

Location

  • PDS Pivot Dart To Point 1.png

  • Menu: Tools> Darts> Pivot Dart To Point
  • Dart Tool and click on the dart tip.

Operation

  1. Select a dart.
  2. Invoke the Pivot Dart To Point command.
  3. Select a point along the contour to which the dart will be shifted. The new point indicates the middle of the dart opening.
  4. Shift the dart completely or by a certain percentage using the Pivot Dart dialog box.

3. Select the location on the contour to which the dart should be shifted
4. The contour is highlighted to show it is waiting for the next operation
5. Shift the dart by any point you select
The original dart remains with a zero width
7. Delete the original dart (if necessary)

8. The dart has been shifted

Dart Division

If you shift the 'movable' part only halfway a dialog box is displayed and allows you to set the percentage width to be shifted. For example, 20% means the original dart will retain 80% of it's original width, and the remaining 20% will be transferred to the new dart.

9. Shift the 'movable' part
10. The Pivot Dart dialog box is displayed
11. The darts are divided equally
