Pane Explanation

Main

Task Pieces

When multiple selection of pieces, Task Pieces indicates which pieces will be affected by the change. Note that you can set the Task Pieces to All pieces even if only one piece is Selected on the working area. If the fields of several pieces don't match, Different is displayed in this field. If you change a field, e.g., the Name field, this will influence ALL the pieces indicated in the Task Pieces.

Protected

Protects the piece's geometry from being edited. All the fields in the piece properties are grayed in order to show that the piece is in protected mode.

On the right side of the status bar, 'Protected' is displayed.

Name

  • Sets the name of the piece.
  • You can view the name on the piece through the View & Selection.
  • Ctrl+Right click on the Name field to launch the Piece Name List Editor.
  • In V11, set the name of multiple pieces when all selected. (Note: When Saving file, PDS will prompt for name fix.)
Delete names, Add names or sort the list

Style Number
  • This is the unique ID of a piece. (Normally, this field should not be changed.)

Style Name

  • This feature is used for converted files which requires the extra information field.
  • To edit:
  1. Select Global Piece Info from the Piece menu.
  2. Ensure to select appropriate Task Pieces status from drop down list.
  3. Edit the Style Name.

Quantity

Sets the Quantity of the piece(s).

Pair

Sets the piece(s) as Pair.

Tool/ Layer

Sets the piece(S) as Tool/ Layer.

Description Text

Sets the properties of the Piece Information Text. Show or hide this text through the View & Selection.

Adjust

Sets the font size, angle and centered field according to the values set in the Preferences.

Font Size

Sets the font size of the Piece Information Text.

Angle

A Zero angle rotates the description parallel to the X Axis

A 90 degree angle rotates the description parallel to the Y Axis

6. Angle = 90 degrees

Centered

Check this field when there are several Piece Information Texts. The texts are then centered around the middle of their Bounding Box.

8. Enabled - Text is centered

Half

Indicates if the piece is set to Half. Show or hide the symmetrical half through the View & Selection.

Mirror

Indicates if the piece is Mirror symmetrical.

Behavior

Keep Grading In Auto Reseam

When checked, the grading on the Seam allowance is not changed according to the grading on the contour.

10. Disabled - The contour grading is changed and the seam's grading is changed
11. Enabled – the seam's grading does not change
In Version 10.3 and on this function has been removed. To enable it, use the following ini parameter:

For SP 10.3

Add to Optitex10.ini a new parameter this Parameter will enable the Keep Grading in auto reseam

Value : 1 or 0  (default = 0 = Do not display or use Keep Grading functions )

Lock Auto Reseam

When enabled, Auto-Reseam is not applied to the piece.

Lock Auto Update Notch

When enabled, Auto Update Notch is not applied to the piece's seam.

Fixed Placement

Saves the piece's position on the working area, to be used by Restore Placement.

12. The two selected pieces are fixed. The center piece is not.
13. The pieces are moved and rotated on the working area
14. After Restore Placement, only the fixed pieces are restored, and the non-fixed pieces are Removed from The Working Area

Maximum X/ Y

Indicates the piece's maximum X/ Y distance.

16. Red - marks the X axis; Green - marks the Y axis

Report

Save to file 
Creates the report as a text file.
Print 
Prints a more detailed report (with the piece's images).

Advanced INI Setting

Remembers the last state opened

Determines whether the Properties pane will remember the tree state, or is reset every time. By default, the last state is remembered. Change this setting through optitex10.ini

optitex10.ini [OptiTex PDS 10] DefaultLeftRightPair=0 if you want the default to be up/down
DefaultLeftRightPair=1 if you want the default to be left/right

optitex11.ini [OptiTex PDS 11] DefaultLeftRightPair=0 if you want the default to be up/down
DefaultLeftRightPair=1 if you want the default to be left/right
