PDS:Add Fullness Tool

Open fullness either by angle, or by distance. Fullness can be added in parallel, or by a pivot point. The first click will define the point that will be 'opened'. The second click should be on the contour where the fullness should be opened, or a pivot point be created (make sure not to click the second click on the same contour line).

Operation

  1. Select the 'Add Fullness Tool'
  2. Select the fullness opening point on the contour.
  3. Select the pivot point along the contour (F2 for Line Direction options).
  4. In the Open Fullness Options window set the fullness amount at the opening point, pivot point and the number of parallel fullness points.

Dialog Explanation

Open Fullness options

Main

Distance from opening point
Enter the fullness amount at the opening point (first point of the slash line)
Distance from pivot point
Enter the fullness amount at the pivot point (last point of the slash line) to open a parallel or variable fullness
Angle
Enter the desired angle of opening at the pivot point
Dashed Lines
Display the slash lines as dashed lines

Parallel Slash And Spread

Duplicate the slash lines in parallel to open fullness on multiple locations

Number
Set the number of parallel slash lines
Distance
Set the distance between each opening point
Variable Distance
Set the distance between each pivot point
Distribute slash lines CCW
Duplicate the slash lines in the opposite direction (counter clock-wise)

Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Alt – open Move Point Dialog (In case it is disabled in the preferences).
  • Ctrl – Disregard the snap definition.
  • F2 – Open the line direction dialog.
  • (Period) – Restrain the cursor movement to the X axis (press ESC to exit this mode).
  • .(Period) + Shift - Restrain the cursor movement to the Y axis (press ESC to exit this mode).
