PDS:Move Or Copy Internal Tool

This tool can be used on an internal contour, button, circle, text, baseline and grainline and is used on several occasions:

  • Move an internal, or several internals.
  • Copy an Internal, or several internals.
  • Join internal segments.

Operation

Move a single Internal

Select a point of one an internal segment
The internal segment was moved

Move several Internals

Use Select Internals tool OR with the select tool, use SHIFT to select multiple internals.

Note: In the preferences it is determined whether to show all the moving internals, or just a single internal.

  1. Select Internals, make a box around all internals to select, or SHIFT - select all the internals 1 by 1.
  2. Select Move Internal, (CTRL-Click on internal to copy, see next section) Click on new location for internal (CTRL-click to specify distance to move)
* Select the internals using the 'PDS:Select_Internals_Tool', or with the 'PDS:Select_Tool'+ Shift – clicking on the internals.
* Select a point of one of the selected internals.

Copy an internal

While clicking the internal segment, press the Ctrl.

Copy an internal to a different piece

When using the tool, even if Ctrl is not pressed, the internals will be automatically copied to the other piece (and not moved from the original to the new piece).

The Ctrl is not clicked, but the PDS 'understands' that this internal segment should be copied to the other piece

Joining internal segment

While clicking the internal's point, press the Alt , this is similar to 'Join Contour Tool'

Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Alt (Before moving an internal): Join the internals.
  • Alt (After moving an internal): open 'Move Internal' dialog (In case it is disabled in the preferences).
  • Ctrl (Before moving an internal): Copy the internals.
  • Shift + Back Space: Allows you to switch selection between an "external on internal" or "internal on internal" point (when not connected).
