Operation
- Invoke the Match Seam tool.
- Select a corner point on the stationary piece.
- To select the previous segment (counter clock-wise), hold the Shift while selecting the corner point.
- Select the matching corner point on the second piece to move piece on piece.
- The Move Piece on Piece dialog will appear, allowing you to change the alignment direction so that the pieces will be put one on top of the other as they should be sewn.
- Close the dialog.
- Select the first intersection point of the two seams (clock-wise)
- Select the second intersection point of the seams.
- The seam will replicate according to the selected piece.
- Click the Esc button to exit the tool and place the moving piece back to its original position.
- The piece with the replicated seam will get a Custom Seam Segment setting.
Dialog Explanation
The move piece on piece dialog allows us to arrange the two selected points as sewn.
To Previous Point
By selecting this option the two segments that come before the two selected points clock wise will be attached.
To Next Point
By selecting this option the two segments that continue the two selected points clock wise will be attached (This option is the default option).
Flip Moving Piece
By selecting this option the moving piece will flip over and will be put on the stationary piece as sewn (in most cases).
Open This Dialog Without Alt Button
By un-checking this option the move piece on piece dialog will invoke only when pressing the ALT button while selecting the two points.
