PDS:History

The History command enables saving additional information to each style file. This information allows following up or retrieving the positioning of a file at a specific point of time.
This command gives the possibility to create a History Log for each style and track the people that made changes to a file according to dates. Two options are offered. One enables you to add text description to the file, The second option enable you to make a file generation with the ‘Save’ command allowing the possibility to in the future to retrieve the file layout at certain stages in the design process.
Note: The History option when enabled, and files are stored, will cause bigger file size. For that reason it is recommended not to save information that that is not going to be used, or delete it before production.

Operation

1. Invoke the 'History'.
2. When saving the files, create a versioned file or add comments.

1. Style with long sleeve

2. Enable the 'Automaticaly save history...' checkbox

3. Change the sleeve to a short sleeve

4. When saving the file, this dialog automatically opens. Add comments and 'Store version'

5. Split the sleeve

6. Save file, add comments but don't 'Store version'

7. In the history dialog select the Short sleeve version and 'Open' it

8. The versioned file opns, and the file name indicates its date

Date And Time

This field is automatically generated according to the computer's date and time. It can not be edited.

Saved By

Indicates who saved this version of the file. This field is using the Windows login user name.

Comments On Version

A textbox allowing entering text explaining the change that was made to the file.

Store Version

Set if the new file will be actually saved, and later, needs be, opened - or only commented on.

Skip

This will simply save the file, without creating a new version for it, or adding comment to it.

Automatically Save History Data When Saving Files

Enable 'History' for the file.

Open

Open the selected file. The file name will be: <File Name.PDS> + <Saved Date>

Delete

Delete the versioned file/ comments

Delete Storage

If a file was stored and comments added to it, it is possible with this button to keep the comments, but delete the stored file. This is commonly used before starting the production, and the older files are no longer needed.

Comments

Edit the comments of the versioned file.
