The Guideline Tool is used to assist in constructing a block, lining up and balancing patterns, measuring a pattern, balancing line angles and curves, plus many more options.

Guideline Explanation
- Create Guidelines from the Menu>View>Ruler
- Delete Guidelines when finished working with them
- Hide Guidelines to keep them but maintain a clean desktop
- Use Guidelines to Measure by moving them a specific amount in any direction, including on any angle
- Change the location of the ruler to "0" on the pattern piece
- Place the Guildline on an angle to view angle on a pattern, or drafting a pattern

Guidelines Explanation
Make and Place a Horizontal and Vertical Guideline
- Make Sure rulers are opened on your Desktop, Select Menu>View>Rulers
- Click on the Horizontal Ruler and drag down to Desktop, Hover over a point, dart, Notch, Button and let go to drop the ruler in a specific location
Notice hovering over an object, the object will turn red which will confirm you are on that object.
- Click on the Vertical Ruler and drag over to Desktop.
- Click in the Intersection of Horizontal Ruler and Vertical Ruler, click and drag to a point on the piece, the ruler will 0 out at that location.
Delete a Guideline
