PDS:Grade Proportional Tool

Use the Grade Proportional tool to apply a grading value to a point, based on the average grading of two other selected points, one on each side of the target point(s). The average value is determined by the grading of the first two key points and the distance between them.

Operating the tool involves three steps. First you click a point to the right of the target point. Then you click a point to the left of the target point, and finally you click on any other point in-between to apply the average (proportional) grading of the first two points to the new point.

Operation

  1. Invoke the Grade Proportional tool.
  2. Select the first input point.
  3. Select the second input point.
  4. Select a point or points in-between the first two points for proportional grading.
    1. Click on internal line to grade all points of the internal
    2. Use selection rectangle to grade multiple points

Common Usage Example

1. Before clicking the first point.
2. After clicking the first point
3. Click on the second grade point
4. Select the output grade point.
5. The point is graded proportionally

Shortcut Keys

  • Select the point for proportional grading.
  • Press Ctrl to grade only the X value.
  • Press Ctrl + Shift to grade only the Y value.
6. Only the X value is graded proportionally (Ctrl + Grade proportional tool)
7. Only the Y value is graded proportionally (Ctrl +Shift +Grade proportional tool)
