PDS:Find And Update

The main function of the find tab is to look for Style files(.PDS) While looking for a style file in PDS application, finder enables you to input further search filters, such as Style name, Piece name, Material type, Piece Description, etc.
After you have marked a piece in the source file by using the ‘Select’ Tab . You should mark the target files in the ‘File list’. Then, you can Update, Replace or Add a piece to the marked PDS or MRK file/s which appears in the File List at the bottom of the dialog box. Remember that the ‘Update’ Tab depends on which host application you launched Finder from.

Operation

  1. Click on the Find and Updates.
  2. Click on the ‘Find Now’.

Style Files

Type a file name with the extension of PDS or MRK to search for pattern and marker files.

2.Write the style name and location

Look in

This field enables you to define the scope of the search to specific directories or sub directories.

Piece Name

Type a Piece Nameif you wish to search for files that contain specific piece.

3. Find with piece name, piece code, piece description and material

Piece Code

Use this option as a filter .Type a piece code if you wish to search for files that contain specific piece code.

Piece description

Type a piece description name if you wish to search for files with a specific piece description.

Material

Use this option as a filter. Type a material if you wish to search for files that contain specific material.

Update

After you have marked a piece in the source file, by using the ‘Select’ Tab. You should mark the target files in the ‘File list’. Then, you can Update Replace or Add a piece to the marked DSN or DSP file/s which appears in the File List at the bottom of the dialog box. Remember that the ‘Update’ Tab depends on which host application you launched Update from.

4. Update the file with long sleeve
5. Add the piece(short sleeve) in existing file
