PDS:Extend Parallel Tool
Use the Extend Parallel tool to extend a selected segment in parallel to it. This tool is usually used to lengthen the hem, without changing the geometry of the piece. You can determine exactly the length of the extension. To extend outside the piece (i.e., make the pants longer) enter a positive value in the dialog box; to extend to the inside of the piece (i.e., make the pants shorter), enter a negative value.

Operation
- Select the Extend Parallel tool.
- Select a segment (from first point to last point in a clockwise direction). The Extend Parallel dialog box is displayed.
- In the dialog box set the required extension value. To shorten the piece enter a negative value (-).
- Click OK to approve.
- When invoking the command from the menu, first select the segment, then invoke the command.
Save Old Contour As Seam
Converts the original segment into a seam. Use this feature after digitizing or converting a piece, when you wish to show the sew line. You can also use the seam tool, with a negative value, but in some cases the Extend Parallel tool produces better results.
INI parameter
SaveParallelWidth=0 in [PDS] section will remember that last value that was used in the tool's field and will used as the new default. ( Version 11 and up only)
