PDS:Digitizer Setup

Use the Digitizer command to Digitize the displayed pieces. Files can be digitized at a Digitizer connected directly to one of the serial or parallel ports on your machine or on any PC on the network.

Note: OptiTex Digitizers can't be plugged to the USB port.

Dialog Explanation

1. Digitizer Setup

Digitizer Type

Set the Digitizer Name. Ex. Numonics , Calcomp

Communication Parameters

The user is able to select the required digitizer from a list. NO need to make the communication Setup from the ‘Control Panel’, it is done now from inside OptiTex Digitizer Setup. The system will load the Digitizer’s default values: Size and communication parameters (baud rate, parity etc..)The last changes will be saved as default values in the OPTIKAD.INI file.

Panel Setting

The digitizer panel contains all the piece attributes and information found in the Piece Info dialog box. Using the Digitizer panel while digitizing eliminates the need to enter the relevant attributes and information into the Piece Info dialog box

2. Digitizer Panel

Communication Port

Select the COM Port on which the Digitizer is physically connected.

Resolution

This is for Digitizer Resolution we set Digitizer Resolution according to Digitizer Type. Default Resolution for Numonics is 1000.

Cursor

By Default we use 4 Button Cursor. Want to use 16 Button cursor, Should have to select 16 Button Cursor.

Table Size

  1. Click on Set.
  2. Set the Width and Height according to the Digitizer. Ex. If Digitizer Size is 36X48 than feed width 48 and Height 36 and unit should be in INCH.

Shift Digitizer

Defines the 0/0 point on the digitizer.
