PDS:Create An Arc Piece

Use the Create An Arc Piece command to create an equal width piece with defined dimensions or with measured dimensions (Darts and Pleats can be excluded by setting Preferences). The Outer or Inner dimensions (Length Top or Length Bottom) can be defined to form a desired arc shape.

Operation

  1. Invoke the Create An Arc Piece dialog.
  2. Enter the appropriate values as described below.
  3. Click OK to create the arc piece.
1. Click the Measure button - the back piece is measured (note that the dart cap is ignored)
2. Click the Add button and measure the front piece (note that the dart cap is ignored)
3. Click the Measure button - the back piece is measured (note to right-click mouse to measure internal segment)
4. Click the Add button and measure the front piece (note to right-click mouse to measure internal segment)
5. Enter width value manually or measure
6. The Contour belt is created

Dialog Explanation

7. Dialog

Piece Name

Sets the Piece's Name.

8. View the name through the View & Selection

Geometrical Data

  • Width: Sets the Equal segment width.
  • Length Top: Sets the Outer segment length.
  • Length Bottom: Sets the Inner segment length.

Additional Buttons

Use the additional buttons for measuring, adding and subtracting distances. This can be used for creating a belt from multiple segments, for example.
Note to select the desired data Field prior to start using the Measure buttons for input.
Note to right-click mouse to measure an internal segment.
