Pane Explanation

Main

Grading

Grading points are used to establish a specific point where grading is applied on a piece (mostly used for apparel). A Grading point may be on a straight line or a curved line. To make a point a grading point, check the box next to Grade Point.
Non grading points are used to help shape the piece boundary. A non grading point will blend with the previous and next grading points, and is therefore sometimes called a blending grade. Non grading points may not be assigned values in the grade table. To make a non grading point, uncheck the box next to Grade point. Determine if the point is a grade or non-grade point. Grading values can be applied only on grade points.

1. Grade point
2. Non-grade point

Curve

Determine if the point is a curve or a non-curve point.

3. A curve point

Connected

Set a connection between the point and an internal point over it by pairing them. If the contour point or the internal point is moved, the other will move along with it. This field is enabled only when an internal point is placed over a point.
Note: Connection can also be set through the Menu command - 'Create Point Connection (Shift+ E).

4. A connected point is moved
5. The internal segment moved with the contour point

Name

Set the name of the point. Show or hide the name by selecting in View & Selection (by Object)> Contour Points> Point Name.

Grading Rule

Indicate the rule name that is applied on the point. If changed, also the grading of the point will change. This field is enabled only when a rule table is opened.

X/ Y connection

Set the rule connection on the X/Y axis.

Location (X, Y)

Set the location of the point from the 0, 0 point. The ruler with the X/ Y values can be opened by selecting the Ruler.

Angle

Indicate the angle of a point in all sizes.

Seam

Seamed

Determine if a point is seamed (in a clockwise matter by default).

  • If point is end of seam, uncheck box (next segment value will be zero).
  • If Point is start of seam, check box by giving Width value (next segment value will change accordingly).

Width

Set the seam's width. Negative or positive seam allowances may be applied depending on how a piece was created, converted or digitized. If the piece was digitized or created from scratch on the sew line, then the seam width value should be positive. If the seam was digitized on the cut line (as it is usually does), then use a negative value (and switch to the sew line by clicking on the F5 key).

6. Width = 5cm

Mitered Width

Set the distance from the corner point to the seam.

7. Width = 2cm

This field is enabled only when the following seam corner type are selected:

Variable

Set the seam with different width for the first and last point.

Next Width

Set the width of the last point of a variable seam.

10. * First point = 4cm
* Last point = 2cm

Start/ End

Set the type of a seam for the start or end point of a seam segment (when seam width value is zero for previous or next segment).

Corner

Set the seam corner type (when seam width value is higher than zero for previous and next segment).

Custom Seam Segment

Active

Indicate if the custom seam segment is enabled, and the corner seam will not change even after re-seaming or editing the piece.

11.

Define By Tool

Manually define the special seam corner.

Auto Define

Automatically recognize the special seam corner. The corner's Seam should be consisted of two points in order to be auto-defined.

Show

Show the custom seam angle.

  • Light green = Contour
  • Dark green = Extension of the contour
  • Red = Special seam corner
12.

Alternative Start Point

Enable

Set a point as an alternative start point.

Clockwise

Set the alternative start point to move clockwise. Disabling this field will set the point to move counter clock wise.

Number Of Alternative Start Points

Indicates the number of alternative start points in the piece.

Modulate

Fixed

Set a point as a fixed point in OptiTex Modulate.
