PDS:Build Piece Tool
From OptiTexHelpEn
Use the Build Piece tool to create a new piece from a different piece or pieces.
This tool is commonly used for creating facing, pockets, cuffs, etc., by extracting pieces from a master pattern (a Map).
Advantages in comparison to Trace Segments Tool
- Works faster – fewer clicks are required in order to select the desired area.
Disadvantages in comparison to Trace Segments tool
- The Build Piece tool does not always select the correct area. However, certain actions can be taken in order to improve its functionality. Refer to Build Piece Tool Troubleshooting.
- When building a piece with intersecting internals or from intersecting pieces, some grading points that were not on the original pieces might appear in the new piece, at the precise point of the Intersection.
