PDS:Align Points Tool

Use the Align Points tool to align a selected group of points horizontally, vertically, or by a specified angle. When using this tool, more than one point must be selected.

Operation

  1. Invoke the Align Points tool.
  2. Click on the first point.
  3. Click on the last point.
  4. Set the alignment type.
  • If you invoke the command via the Menu you must select the points beforehand.

By Angle

Aligns the points by the specified angle. The initial value in the field is the current angle between the line joining the first and the last point (depending on what is selected in the Align All Between Selected Points), and the line joining the next and previous points.

4. From the first point to the next point - the angle is 17 degrees
5. From the last point to the previous point - the angle is 168 degrees

Align Point

Determines by which point (first or last) the alignment should be done.

Horizontal / Vertical

Determines on which axis the alignment should be done.

All Points

Determines if all the points between the first and the last should also be aligned.

7. Disabled – only the selected points are aligned
8. Enabled – Also the points between the selected points are aligned

Align All Between Selected Points

Aligns the points between the first and last point according to the angle between the first and the last point selected.
