PDS:Add Spline Support Points

Use the Add Spline Support Points command to add non-grading points along curved segments, in order to better maintain the shape. This command is usually used when using the Trace Segments Tool, but the outcome does not exactly follow the original segments.This command is the converse of the Points Cleanup command.

  • Menu Piece > Add Spline Support Points

Operation

  1. Select one or more piece(s).
  2. Invoke the Add Spline Support Points command. The Add Spline Support Points dialog box is displayed.
  3. In the dialog box, select the piece(s) on which to add the support points.
  4. Click OK to add the points.
  • In version 10.4 the command will add Grading Points if needed to keep the shape of a curved graded segment (see images 4-6).

Common Usage Example

1. The original piece, with only a single non-grading point on the armhole curve
2. Click the appropriate button
3. Non-grading points are automatically added to maintain the shape

5. Add Support points with no grading points - the curve slightly changed on the smallest size
6. Add Support points with grading points - kept the curve shape on the smallest size
