Old Software Activation

After installing OptiTex software, you will be required to activate it using the following procedure. The same procedure is needed if you have formated your computer, and reinstalled OptiTex.

To use a Timer Key with version 10.2 and later see first the Reset Timer Application.

The following article does not include Network License Activation.

For any troubles during the install, please contact your distributor or local office.

Operation

Generate Request

1. Plug in the USB dongle - Plug the Dongle Key in one of your available USB port, Make sure the red light is on.
2. Launch the license manager through Windows Start> Program Files> OptiTex 10> Utilities> License Manager.
3. Generate a Request - Click on 'Generate Request' button, and save the request file to the desktop (typically license.req, in 10.5 and up the filename is request<number>.req).
4. Email Request (or proceed to an On-Line License Activation).
   1. Send an Email to OptiTex with the request file as an attachment.
      • US and Canada customers Email request to license.usa@optitex.com
      • Other locations Email to - license.int@optitex.com
      • Eastman Customers Email to - license.eastman@optitex.com

Install License

1. Save License File - You will receive an Email with your new license file, save it to your desktop.
2. Choose one of the two following method to activate your license:
   • Double click on the license file will install it automatically or
   • Use the License manager to open the license file
     1. Launch the license manager through Windows Start> Program Files> OptiTex 10> Utilities> License Manager.
     2. Install License - Click on 'Install License' button and select the license file from your desktop (typically license<Key Number>.lis). Note that <Key Number> should be your Key Number
     3. Software Activation Complete.

* Make sure to have write access to the ...OptiTex10\app\ folder.

Notes

• The license activation is valid only for one single computer and must be used with the specific USB key provided. Using another computer will require a new activation file.
• You can request activation for multiple computer as long as you move the key from one computer to the other before loading the software.
• When activating a license on a computer, you must use the same USB key to open the software.

HASP DRIVER

• If windows does not recognize the key at all. Install the HASP Driver.
• Make sure Optitex USB key is plugged to your computer.
• If the key is plugged and the message is still displayed, then update to the latest USB Hasp driver from the following link :
