Marker:Piece Properties

In this pane you can control many attributes of the piece(s). A thumb rule is that it is recommended to change the different attributes from OptiTex PDS (from the Pieces Table for example), or if needed to change from Marker then from Order For Marker Making.

Task

Task Pieces

Indicate which pieces should be influenced by this command (Selected piece, All sizes, Global).

Main Info

Style Set

Indicates the Style Set of the pieces

Size Name

Indicates the size name of the pieces.

Name

Set the piece Name.

Clear Leading Numerical Code

Same as PDS - Clear Numeric Figures From Piece Name.

Code

Set the piece Code.

Description

Set the piece Description.

Quantity

Set the piece Quantity.

Area/ Perimeter

Indicates the piece's area and perimeter.

Reminders

Indicates the Reminders Pieces according to the number of plies and of the order ratio.

Plies

Indicates the number of plies, as were set in the Marker Definitions.

Block Sizes

Indicates the size i.e. maximum X/ Y of a selected piece.

Lock

When Automatic Nesting is run, the piece will not be placed. Piece can be manually placed, though.

Material

Set the Material type of the piece.

Tool/ Layer

Set the Tool/ Layer of the pieces.

Quality

Set the Quality type of the piece.

Piece Descriptions Adjustment

This option is used to control the maximum size of the Description on the pieces. Note that the minimum text size on a printer is 2mm and the minimum text size on a plotter is 3mm.

Minimal/ Maximal size of piece description. Description whose size is smaller than this value will be set to this value.

Parallel To Baseline

Set the piece description direction to be parallel to the baseline.

Internal Text Adjustment

This option is used to control the maximum and minimum size of the Internal Text (non descriptions text) on the pieces.

Piece Attributes

Opposite Piece

Set the Opposite Piece of the piece(s).

Orientation

Set the Orientation of the piece(s).

On Marker Rotation Allowance

Set the Rotation of the piece(s).

On Marker Flip Allowance

Set the Flip Allowance of the piece(s).

Folding Allowance

Set the Folding Allowance of the piece(s).

Buffer

Add a buffer to the piece(s). Buffer is used to keep a gap between every piece in order to allow easier cutting of the Marker.

Size

Set the size of the buffer. The size is the absolute value of the buffer (i.e. it doesn't add to any existing buffer).

Type

Set the type of the buffer. In the following figure the icon are showing on the top left of every figure.

Apply

Apply the buffer according to the Size and Type defined.

  • Incase the piece is self intersecting, pushing the Apply button will generate the message: "Cannot perform buffering."

In this case, Hold the Shift key while pushing the Apply button.

Remove

Remove the current buffer and reset to the original contour.

Scale/Shrink By Factor

Scale the selected pieces. Units can be changed from % to ratio in the Preferences. when working with % value the entered is added to the current scale (type 0 to reset), when working with ratio the value is replacing the current one (type 1 to reset).

Scale/Shrink by absolute or difference value

Click on the button next to the Scale/Shrink By Factor to view the advanced scale options. image: scalemarker.PNG


Choose if to set the scaling value as an absolute value. or sets the scaling value by the absolute difference from the original value.



Add Scaling Info Into Description Field

Should the current scaling factor be displayed as a part of the piece Description.

Tilt

Set the piece's tilt allowed on the Marker.

Report

Piece/ Size Report

Create a report of the piece/ size.

Save To File

Save the report to a text file.

Print

Print the report.

Piece Placement

Task Instances

Select the scope of the instances related parameters.

Placement on Marker

Information about the position of the current instance.

X/ Y

Set the Left, right, center, etc' boundaries of the instance along the 0, 0 Point.

Parameters
Legal Intersection

Don't detect intersection for this piece.

Stop Before Cutting (Opstop) This Piece

Activate OPSTOP Command on current instance only (Ctrl + Alt + W).

Don't Cut the Piece

The piece will not be cut or plotted

Flaw On The Marker

Define the selected piece area as a Flaw on the Marker. This can be used when nesting a Marker with color shading.

Label

This label will be applied on the selected piece on the Marker only, and will be plotted together with the piece.
