Marker:Edit Piece

The Edit Piece command provides a special editing environment for last minute changes to a piece. When using this command, the parameters defined in the Piece Info are disregarded. Remember these changes are only made to the selected piece in this Marker.
If you want all future markers to display the changes, the piece must be edited in PDS.

Operations
To Edit a Selected Piece:
- Select the desired piece.
- From the PIECE menu choose EDIT PIECE. The Piece Pattern Editor dialog box will be displayed.
- Select the desired option(s). (Buffer, Add point , flip etc.)
- Change the values add the points
- Click Close.
Dialog Explanation
Buffer
Enables the user to specify a buffer area to be applied to a specific area of a piece
- Open Edit Piece dialog
- Select the Buffer option
- Fill in a buffer size value
- Choose Buffer Type
- Click Apply
- Click Close
Add Point
The Add Point option will add a point to the piece buffer perimeter. It will not add a point to the original perimeter
- Open Edit Piece Dialogץ
- Select the Add Point button
- Click where the point is to be added,
- Click Apply.
Note: The point is not added until you click Apply.
Del Point
The Delete Point command is used to delete points on the buffer perimeter. You can delete a point belonging to the piece buffer perimeter, but a point can not be deleted along the piece’s original perimeter
- Select Delete Point
- Click the point you wish to delete (it will become highlighted)
- Click Apply.
Move Point
The Move Point option enables you to move a point on the buffer, but not on the piece’s original perimeter.
- Select the Move Point button
- Click the point to be moved and drag it to the desired position
- Select Apply
Rotate
The rotate command will allow you to rotate the piece. Any options specified in the Piece Info are disregarded.
- Select Rotate
- Define the rotation angle in the 'Angle to Rotate' field at the top of the dialog box and
- Click Apply.
Flip
The Flip option allow you to flip the piece. Any options specified in the Piece Info are disregarded.
- Select Flip
(Note: The Horizontal or Vertical options at the bottom of the dialog box become enable)
- Select Vertical or Horizontal
- Click Apply
- Your piece will be flipped in the selected direction
Cut
This command is used to split/cut/divide a piece either horizontally or vertically. The piece can be cut in half or at a specific length in either direction. If a specific amount is desired, the division line is controlled by the cursor. This action will effect only a single piece. You can multiply the number of appearances of the piece after it is cut using the Piece Info command in the Piece menu.
- Select Cut
- Fill in a seam allowance value
Optional: Enable the Half option to split the piece in half. If you want to split the piece a specific amount, disable the half box Select Horizontal or Vertical
- If you choose to disable the half option - select Vertical or Horizontal and Click the mouse cursor along the graph on the right side of the dialog box.
- Drag the mouse to the desired location.
- Select OK
Note: you can also fill in the exact X or Y perimeter value in the suitable fields.
