Description

When plotting or importing and HP-GL file format the scale is slightly wrong.

Note that multiple Aladdin network keys cannot be used on a same computer, even if they are for different applications or modules.
They must be attached to different computers with separate License Managers running.

Symptom

In some HP-GL and HP-GL/2 implementation there is a scaling error and the size of a unit is 1/1000 of an inch instead of 1/40mm , this causes an error in scale when plotting using such devices.

Solution

  • Importing: To Change the import mode select mm or cm in the import dialog to use 1/40mm conversion, and inch to import using 1/1000in conversion.
  • Plotting :To change the HP-GL format type created
    • An Optikad.INI file parameter needs to be added in the plotter section of the ini file. the parameter name is PlotterUnitsType, possible values are Metric for 40 units in a mm and English for 1000 units in a inch.
    • Optikad.ini can be edited with any text editor.
[Plotter]
PlotterUnitsType=English
or
PlotterUnitsType=Metric (default)
