Knowledge:Grading A Grainline To Be Parallel To The Center

Since grainlines can be graded, the 'tilt' of the piece can be changed per size.
Make sure to keep the baseline un-graded – this is a better practice.

Operation

  1. Draft an internal line.
  2. Convert the line into a grainline.
  3. Give the grainline proper grading values.
  4. In OptiTex Marker, note that the pieces are placed according to the grainline.
1. Draft the first point
2. …and the last
3. Click 'No'

4. Move the internal contour that was created
5.
7. Select the internal points

6. Extend it with a negative value
8. The internal contour was shortened – this is done for conveyance only
9. Select the Internal contour and convert it to a grainline

10. The grainline has the required grading values
11. Notice that pieces placed on the marker are parallel
