Before installing the HP plotter with OptiTex. This installation is both for network and local connections.
Also Make sure your plotter has an HP-GL/2 card.

Start Setup

  1. Open a file on Marker or PDS.
  2. Open Plot dialog from File menu >> Plot (CTRL+L)
  3. Select 'OCC'.
  4. Select 'Use Output Manager'.
  5. Click on the 'Select' Button.

Add A New Plotter Setting

  1. Click the 'Add' Button.

Network/Local Computer

  1. Select 'My Computer' if the Plotter is connected directly to your computer or connected directly to the network (using a network card).
  2. Select 'Network Computer' if the plotter is connect to an 'other computer' on the network and continue with network setup instruction, This does not apply to HP plotters connected to the network directly.
  3. Click 'Next'.

Plot Cut Communication Setup

  • Communication Parameters, Have all the setting as described below
Communication_Attributes Communication Protocol: LAN Printer
Port: Usually Com1 or 2
Baud Rate: unchecked
Parity: unchecked
Printer Name: HP DRIVER
Data Bits: Stop Bits: Communication Parameters
unchecked unchecked CTS/RTS: unchecked DTR Signal: unchecked
Xon/Xoff: unchecked DTS Signal: unchecked

Name The Plotter Configuration

  1. Give a name to your configuration.
  2. Check 'Shared Plotter' - If other computers on the network need to plot to the same plotter.

Queue Wizard Dialog Default

  1. Set the plotter configuration as default and close the window

Tools Setup Tab


Finish The Setup

  1. Click the browse button to set the plot file directory.
  2. Check 'Hold A Job' if you want to confirm each job sent to OCC manually.(This does not apply to LAN Printers)
  3. Click 'OK' to test the plotter setting or 'Cancel' to exit.
