Glossary:Baseline /Grainline
From OptiTexHelpEn
The baseline is the line according to which the pieces are placed on the Working Area when the Rotate To Initial Baseline is invoked.
The grainline is the line according to which the piece will be placed on the Marker.
The grainline is usually used when grading a piece which needs to be in the bias. Imagine grading a skirt when it's rotated 45 degrees on the screen, applying grading values is difficult. For this reason, you will keep the baseline as if the skirt is a 'normal' skirt but add a grainline. Now the grading operation is humanly possible, and the placing on the Marker is accurate as well.
Common Usage Example
3. Wrong way - After rotating the piece 45 degrees, the grading values of course changed accordingly, which makes it harder for humans to read
