3D:Load Model

  • Use the Load Model command to load a 3D model to the 3D Model window.
  • The file can be in several file formats and you can import files from other 3D systems.

Operation

  1. Click on the Load Model icon on the 3D toolbar. The Open dialog box is displayed.
  2. Select the desired file format from the Files of Type field. A list containing the files of the selected type appear on the File List.
    • In case Thumbnails option is checked on the View Menu of the Open dialog then preview images of the models are displayed on the File List.
  3. Select the desired file from the File List dialog box.
  4. Click on the 'Open' button.

Model Files (*.mod)
Cloth Files (*.clt)
3D Studio Max Files (*.3ds)
Maya Files (*.ma,*.mb)
Notes:
*To be able to save as mb file Maya need to be installed on your PC. 
*Maya files cannot be imported on computers where Python 2.5 is installed.
*Even if the file is technically OK in Maya 2011 64bit, we can only support Maya 2010 32bit (V11).
