3D:Lighting Editor

Lighting Editor dialog box contain tools to adjust the lighting in the 3D window.

Operation

  1. Invoke the '3D Lightning'
  2. Click on the Lighting Editor Icon. This will open the Lighting Editor dialog box.
  3. Click on Light Type: Simple, Soft or Shadows. The preview image will change accordingly.
    1. For the Shadows lighting you may adjust the intensity.
  4. Click Apply

Dialog Explanation

Light Type

Simple

Basic Lighting, very clear image. Best to use when draping and working on files or if your hardware does not support a high resolution graphic card

2. Simple Light Type
3. Simple Light Type Room

Soft

Default light type. Lighting simulates room light. Use Light Parameters to change light Elevation, Rotation, and Intensity.

Shadows

Strong light, creates deep shadows on 3D Image simulating sunlight. Use Light Parameters to change light Elevation, Rotation, and Intensity. Notice that using the Display Shadows function severely effects navigation performance (speed), so use this control sparingly.

There are two types of shadows. Click Apply to toggle between them
  • Model cast shadows
  • Model doesn't cast shadows


Intensity

Change the light source distance from the model.
