3D:Inflated Objects Tutorial
From OptiTexHelpEn
Inflated Objects
- Inflating simulated objects are fairly advanced since it requires dealing with the Simulation Properties.
- Download the file Inflated Capsule.zip (56 kb) and open it on OptiTex PDS.
- Download the file Floor.zip (25 kb) and load it to the 3D Model window.
- Setting up Simulation Properties:
- Set the Gravity to '0' to keep the object from moving.
- Check the Implicit Only option.
- Check the Use Pressure option and set the value to 10.
- Place Cloth and Simulate Draping.
- Working with Large pieces - When simulating large pieces, set Resolution to be lower (values 2-10).
- When working with Pressure start with low pressure value and raise it gradually.
Troubleshooting
- The simulation stopped but the object is not fully sewn
Simulation of inflated object may take longer to solve. Click Simulate Draping again to run the simulation solver again.
- The simulation stopped and an error message popped saying that the simulation has failed
- Use Implicit Only solver to run an accurate simulation.
- Lower the Pressure value.
- Set higher/lower Resolution for the simulated pieces, Clear the 3D Model window and run simulation again.
- Each piece has a definition of inside and outside. When placing pieces they should all be heading outside. Make sure the pieces are heading outside by selecting a piece and changing its Thickness – the thickness should change on the 'inside' direction.
