3D:Display Shadows

• Use Display shadows function to depict depth in the 3D Model window by casting and obstructing light.
• Display Shadows function allows "self shadowing", meaning that it allows models to cast shadows on themselves and on other objects.
• Use Display Shadows when taking snapshots to create a photo-realistic feel. Notice that using the Display Shadows function severely effects navigation performance (speed), so use this control sparingly.

Operation

1. Click on the black arrow next to the Simulation Properties icon in the 3D toolbar. This will open a drop down list of the 3D Display functions.
2. Click on the Display Shadows icon.
   • To modify the shadow parameters see Lighting Editor.

2. With no Shadows displayed snapshot is rather flat.

3. Display Shadows is on and snapshot seems more alive.
