3D:Scale Piece Tool

Use the 3D Scale Piece Tool to stretch or shrink selected 3D items such as cloth pieces, circumference disks, models and model parts such as shoulder pads. The scaling of 3D items is for simulation purposes only, the stretched cloth pieces will gain their initial size during the simulation process.

Operation

1. Select the tool from the 3D toolbar.
2. Select a 3D item in the 3D Model window. At this point a scaling manipulator with 4 scaling handles will be displayed on the piece.
3. Press on a scaling box and drag the mouse in the selected handle directions.
4. To navigate in 3D window while using the tool hold down the Ctrl key.
5. To release the tool right-click anywhere in the 3D Model window.

• Notice that dimensions of 3D objects determined by the 3D Scale Piece Tool are only temporary. Pieces will gain their previous dimensions once you will clear the 3D window and place again.
• Dimensions of 3D objects determined by the 3D Scale Piece Tool are valid for 3D Model Window alone, will not affect the the pattern piece's size and are not connected to the Scale command in PDS.

The scaling manipulator has 4 scaling handles:

1. Scale on the X axis box is marked red.
2. Scale on the Y axis box is marked green.
3. Scale on the Z axis box is marked blue.
4. Scale Proportionally box at the center of the scaling manipulator is marked gray.

• Notice that once you select an axis the box and handle turn yellow.
