Operation
Export Animated Cloth from PDS to Maya
- In PDS;
- place cloth and do the initial draping
- open animation window> check "Export Cache" on> browse to a folder where you want to save a file and give it a desired name (name*.ccd)
- set the "from" and "to" frames to simulate
- press the "Play button" and wait till the animation is done.
- after the animation stopped, the cache file (*.ccd) will be written to defined destination.
- in 3d tool bar, save model as Maya file format (*.mb) check the "Animation" on.
- In Maya
- Make sure the "MayaAnimPlugin.mll" plugin is loaded (download file from here)
- open exported Maya file.
- select the Cloth mesh and open Attribute Editor
- go to "OptiClothCacheNode1" and make sure the path is correct, fix if needed and press enter (you can type in command line select "OptiClothCacheNode1" )
- you can play the animation.
- Requirements
- Maya 2010 32 bit installed.
- OptiTex cache reader for maya "MayaAnimPlugin.mll" is installed.
Preferences
- In 3D Tools Preferences, "Use Fast Snapshot mode", if you are using NVIDIA® GeForce® 8 series and higher graphic card. This mode will avoid image corruption for Animation videos and 3D snapshots.
